I have a little experience in this subject. I am even considering going
to a memory clinic. But I have just enough medical knowledge to make me
dangerous too.
Forgetfulness is most likely caused by stress in the teens, 20's and
30's. However, hormone influxuations can cause memory problems, lack of
or poor sleep (restless leg syndrome, sleep apnea)It is rare, but in
younger adults and teens, especially those who do a lot of sitting or
don't get the proper exercise, small clots can starve little parts of
the brain for oxygen (stokes).
Most people know that if someone has weakness/numbness on one side of
the body, they may be having a stroke, but less known is a sudden
slurring of words, speaking inappropriate words, sometimes the only
signs are dizziness, nausea and/or weakness. There are strokes that give
no signs that one would guess was a stroke and there are no signs other
than sudden onset of increased forgetfulness.
But stress would be my guess.
