I totally agree with this quote. The more you worry, the more you forget about God. I think you should ask God for help when there is a lot of worries, not just handle it alone.

I actually disagree with this quote. I think it is foolish to assume that everything will be handeled due to the fact that you believe in a higher power. Dont get me wrong, I do believe in God very much so. I am a very spiritual person. I ask God for the strength to handle my problems and the wisdom to come up with solutions. I dont just kick up my heels and assume that God will handle it. And even though I pray and I believe in God, I am still guilty of being a worry wort. Sometimes it just happens. Some things are too important to not worry about. I Never sweat the small stuff. I have become very good at rationalizing with myself. I ask myself if the situation is going to still be an issue in 3 days, in three months, and in three years. More times than not, the answer is no. So I just let it go. That seems to calm down a lot of the worrying.

I use a similar method of trying to figure out if something's worth being worried about. I ask myself, "Will this kill me?" The answer is usually no, so I let myself relax a little bit. I know mine is a bit dramatic, but I work myself way up over things, so I need to have something extreme to put things into perspective. :)

I don't agree with that quote. Some people are born into circumstances that present more real danger and more cause for worry than other people.

Well think about this for a second... I've been in many situations that I really worried about. Abusive relationship, seeing someone getting stabbed, seeing a good friend half dead... The message I get from this quote is that I don't have to worry. WOW! What a relief. Just have faith and things will be alright. I've seen people grow up in to the worst type of family and you say they are born in to circumstances that force them to worry about things? This is the beauty of God. You can be born in to the worst type of situation but if you have faith and you can see the light at the end of a long tunnel than God is saying hey you don't have to worry. I'm here for you. I'm going to help you. Just believe in me. Ofcourse it could be a process. You might not wake up the next morning and everything be alright but things will get better. And also, in all reality, where does worrying about things get you anyways? It is a total waist. Instead of worrying about it just take action to try and fix it. If you can't fix it then move on. Worrying about it won't change it.

I would say that this is true. My God is huge and he can take care of all my needs. I do not need to worry about anything.

I definitely disagree with this quote. I'm not a very religious person. I don't go to church. I really don't believe in any God at all. Of course, when a religious person hears of someone who doesn't believe in God, they automatically assume that that person is immoral, depressed, and confused. I resent that stereotype. I have morals, I'm a generally happy person, and the reason I disagree with this quote is I don't have many worries at all. My main concern right now is paying for college. I suppose religion does help many people in the world with their problems, but that doesn't mean you have more problems if you don't have religion.

I would also agree with this quote. A lot of Christians (including myself) forget just how big and powerful God is so they become sick with worry and lose hope in their day-to-day struggles and forget to call out to God for help. He should be the first person we go to for help when things get tough, not the last.

Well said. I completely agree with this. I don't ever worry because I know that God has a plan and he is in control. If something doesn't work out the way I wanted it to, that just means that there is something else out there for me. God has a plan and it's a waste of time trying to worry about the little details of it.

I'm with jstanek. I've heard of this saying before. And it makes sense but some people just go too far. You can't just throw away your responsibilities and expect God to pick up the pieces EVERY time. This quote can prove true for the minor worries. But when it comes to, "gee how much beer can I guzzle on an empty stomach within 5 minutes" that is not going to work. Neither is "I'm going to drive my car 30 miles over the speed limit and drive without regard to the other people on the road." Don't take your faith so far as to do very careless things at the expense of the health and well being of the other people in this world and yourself.

I also believe that if there is a God, he probably takes care of the priority problems first. The five year old that got diagnosed with cancer will probably get His help first and not the girl praying for a date with the school's biggest hunk. At least I hope it works that way. There are so many people in this world, I would feel guilty asking for help in every move I make. I can handle the test in AP Human Geography and I can handle the interview. I'd rather He take care of somebody who needs his help more like a person who is ill, dying or about to be raped.

Luring attraction. The coolest thing in the world is that God does not have to choose who he helps first. Also God does not always help you in the way you think. A 5 year old girl with cancer might show others how to be brave in the face of death, so God might not heal her. A girl praying for a date with a hot guy will get an answer to her prayer. I doubt it is what she is looking for, but I would say it is what she might need at the time.

God is big enough to take care of everyone's prayers and problems. That is why it is so amazing that you can pray for a test. You can pray for an interview. God cares about that too. He cares about just as much as you do and more. It is the same thing when you tell your parent or loved one what is going on in your life. You don't tell them so they can do anything about it most of the time. You tell them so they can be close to you. God wants to be close to you.

I don't believe that people who don't have God are in a worse state than people that do have God. Things for you might be the best thing in the world. I don't think this quote means anything to you, or about you. If you don't believe in God than you don't have to depend on him. You don't have to care if he loves you. You can live a happy life without him, but for the people that do have God this quote has so much to do with trust and not dependence. It is about trusting God so you don't have to worry. I am sorry that people put you in a stereotype. I am not, but I want you to know that God does care about you even if you don't care about him.

For those who worry about something that might kill you. It doesn't matter if you die. You can enjoy life right up until you die. Worrying about death will not make dying any easier of better. Logic my friends can show you that worrying does not help anything.

Also depending on God for everything does not mean that you are a lazy person. My coworkers tell me all the time how I do too much at work. There is no award to win. There is no more money to be had. I am a waitress, helping my coworkers out does not get me more money. The point is that depending on God means you live your life without worries because when anything that would bug you comes up you give it to God, and then keep trudging with the encouragement of God.
